Early Morning Edinburgh 2023

Oil on canvas panel, mounted in modern floating frame

A recently completed painting, originally made as an entry to the Scottish Portrait and Landscape Awards 2023. In this painting I was trying to communicate the feeling of a cool early morning before a warm day, with the sense of the temperature to come. Naturally, close observation and control of colour was necessary to give the sense of it.
